A very large SINOPEC terminal in Zhoushan City, China had a vapor control problem they couldn’t solve. The vapor stream consisted of both light and heavy hydrocarbon fractions, and the light fractions were too light for a conventional DRYVac™ approach. SYMEX Technologies engineering team developed a brand-new process designed to augment conventional dry vapor recovery and capture both the heavy and the light hydrocarbons. This was another first for SYMEX Technologies, and a patent was granted for this innovation. The system was started up in the spring of 2016 and has operated as expected ever since.
